John Stevens Workshops | Brush & Pen Lombardic Options List

Materials/ Update

You might need a pointed brush, like a Windsor & Newton Series 7, #1 or 2. (or similar)

––——————————————————————

You could also use a liner brush like this: (below)

These can be handy for drawing and retouch. I will demo in class.

Pens:

Pointed Pen nibs. This is a personal choice, but I like Gillott 303, Nikko G, Esterbrook, Leonardt Principal, Baignal & Farjohn

Vellica Cementee 2436 EF, Hunt 22B

Pen Sharpening:

John Stevens Brush Instruction from class

If we get to work with the brush in this workshop, (it is a full workshop of info, so I am not sure), I recommend this Raphael (at left) or a Winsor&Newton 995, 1/2 inch.

Below: I show a graphic comparing short-hair flat brushes and longer hair, round-ferrule brushes.
